Health and wellness resource center 2B Well has shifted its business model after exiting space in Galloway Village.
Owner Brandy Hickman said plans had been in the works to add a virtual component to the business, and then the coronavirus pandemic hit.
“COVID just amped up the idea of going to more virtual,” Hickman said this morning.
2B Well vacated its roughly 2,300-square-foot space at 3539 S. Lone Pine Ave. in late August, she said. With the decision, Hickman said she laid off three employees, noting she kept them on as long as possible utilizing tax credits and Economic Injury Disaster Loan assistance. She’s now the lone employee.
With the change to the virtual format, Hickman renamed the company 2B Well Integrative Health Collaborative.
Founded in 2014, 2B Well operates as a system of natural health professionals, with contractors who are professionally certified for their own individual businesses previously operating out of the Galloway Village space. Hickman operates a membership model called kitchen therapy, and other contractors have provided life and health counseling and naturopathy, among other services.
Some of those contractors have relocated via new partnerships, Hickman said, though she said others who can operate virtually transitioned with her.
Hickman said the business model allows natural health professionals to come together to provide wellness services for the community.
“As solopreneurs, sometimes it’s really difficult because you feel alone,” she said. “Right now is just a very volatile time, so we’re just trying to come together as a community.”
